Now available from Amber Quill Press Amber Allure: Blood on the Mountain. This will eventually be partnered with Under a Rock as a paperback collection of protection-themed stories, Watch My Back.

From Chicago to Rio, from the beaches to the slums, Blood on the Mountainhas plenty to offer both outside the bedroom and in. And really, who can say no to a hunky, reluctant ex-FBI agent and an idealistic and determined entrepreneur?

As you might have heard, here on the East Coast, we got a little bit of snow this week.  Emery and I always enjoy these “snow events”, as they are euphemistically called here.  After all, we both grew up in central and northern Michigan, where three inches is just another winter’s day and no one really starts counting until it hits feet.  This one got our attention, though.  I was stuck at home for two days with three kids who still haven’t gone back to school, while Emery risked life and limb to walk the ten blocks of trecherous Philadelphia streets to get to work.  But in a lot of ways, it was great.  I made lots of soup and had fun driving my 4WD out of parking spots everyone else still has to shovel, and Emery got some great pictures of the city.

Best of all, though, we had just finished the third book of Creatures of Sin, and swore to ourselves that before we started the next one, we were going to do at least one project that didn’t involve those boys.  That’s always hard, just because we know them so well and have so much more to tell in that world.  Starting with new characters is always a little trepidatious, kind of like starting a new job.  Are you going to like the characters?  Is the world going to be interesting?  Do you know enough about your setting and period to do a good job of it?  We’ve already had one couple crash and burn on us because we didn’t know enough about rally driving to fake it.  But we took a deep breath and launched ourself into another one.  So far, so good.  We’re certainly enjoying the characters so far, and while we might need a little research on the setting, it’s not something so technical and specialized that we won’t be able to manage with a little due diligence.  So now we’re settling in, getting to know the gentlemen in question and starting to let them whisper in our ears as we get to know them.  It’s rather exciting!  I’m looking forward to reading it when it’s done… ;)

Last fall we were at the Collingswood Book Festival talking with some of our author friends about what they were working on, and we were reminded by our good friend and collegue Cat Johnson about All Romance Ebooks‘ upcoming 28 Days of Heart fundraiser to benefit the American Heart Association.  At the time we were struggling with what to do next for the Creatures of Sin series.  David and Carver aren’t done with us yet, but Commander Montgomery really wanted some time in the light as well.  This seemed like the perfect opportunity to take advantage of that.  So we did.

For one week every year, Christopher Montgomery sets aside the responsibility that comes with being the commander of Pittsburgh’s Zone Six police district. He gets as far away from home as possible to indulge in a hedonistic vacation on a gay cruise in the Caribbean, where he loses himself in the casualness of encounters with much younger men. Then he meets Kieran.

Kieran Phillips doesn’t know what he is looking for except to get away by taking a weeklong cruise friendly to his lifestyle, until he comes across the rugged detective. Then he can’t help but throw a wrench into Chris’ plans for a decadent vacation full of casual encounters with younger men by showing him the benefits of age and experience.

It’s available now for pre-order at the ARe website.  Go pick up a copy, and while you’re there, check out some of the other great M/M, threesome and het titles being offered during this great fundraiser.  Over the next few weeks, we’ll have some of these authors stopping by to chat about their books and their writing process, so we hope you’ll come by and meet them as well!

Sorry for the sudden disappearance.  With all the best intentions, we went about a reorg on the webhosting site this weekend and instead of improving things, we managed to delete the entire database for the India Harper site.  *headdesk*  So, instead of writing and knitting this weekend as planned, we spent a good chunk of time reconstructing the pages here.  There’s still some more work to do, and unfortunately our previous, pithy posts are now gone, but hopefully in the next few days, everything will be back up along with excerpts and some other goodies.

It’s always the business of writing that seems to take so much more time than actual writing.  Or at least it feels that way.

But there are lots of goodies coming, including our entry in the 28 Days of Heart fundraiser at Allromanceebooks.com and hopefully some interviews with the authors who are participating in it with us.  We’ll keep you posted!
